How it affects what we say
It does not. Our rules are simple:
- We recommend gear we have used or would use ourselves.
- We never accept payment in exchange for a positive review or a ranking.
- If a cheaper or non-affiliate product is the better choice, we say so and name it.
- We remove recommendations that no longer hold up rather than quietly leaving them.
Advertising
This site displays third-party display advertising, which helps keep every guide free to read. Advertising is served by third parties and is clearly distinguishable from editorial content. Advertisers have no input into what we publish. Cookie use by advertising partners is described in our Privacy Policy.
Sponsored content
If we ever publish sponsored or gifted-product content, it will be labelled at the top of the page. We have no undisclosed commercial arrangements.
