Original content
Everything published on Local Knowledge Fishing is written specifically for this site by a named contributor. We do not republish syndicated articles, spun text or machine-generated filler, and we do not accept guest posts written to place links.
Research and sourcing
Species behaviour, seasonal patterns and technique advice are based on Australian angling experience, product documentation, state fisheries publications and peer-reviewed material where relevant. Where advice is regional or contested, we say so rather than presenting one opinion as settled fact.
Review and dating
Articles are checked before publication for clarity, safety, obvious factual errors and unsupported claims. Guides carry a published or last-reviewed date so you can judge how current the advice is. Regulation-sensitive pages are reviewed at least annually and after any significant rule change.
Corrections
We fix errors quickly and openly. Substantive corrections are noted on the page. Report anything that looks wrong via our contact page.
Independence
Advertising and affiliate partnerships never influence editorial judgement, and no advertiser sees content before publication. Full detail is in our affiliate disclosure.
Conservation and safety
We will not publish advice that encourages breaching bag limits, fishing closed waters, mishandling released fish, or taking unreasonable personal risk. Sensitive or private locations are never named.
