Privacy Policy
Last updated 31 July 2026. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit this website and how it is used.
Who we are
Local Knowledge Fishing & Camping ("we", "us") operates this website. You can contact us at any time at knowledgefishing@gmail.com.
Information we collect
We do not require registration and we do not sell personal information. We collect:
- Information you send us. If you email us or use our contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. We use it only to reply and to improve our content.
- Technical information. Our hosting and analytics providers automatically log standard data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring page and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Used to remember preferences, measure traffic and serve advertising.
Cookies and advertising
This site displays third-party advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
Third-party advertising partners may also use cookies, web beacons or similar technologies. We do not control those cookies and recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any advertiser whose ad you interact with.
This site is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense, and by affiliate links. Ad placements are clearly labelled "Advertisement". For full detail on the cookies used for advertising, personalisation and how to opt out, see our Cookies & Ads policy.
Analytics
We use aggregate analytics to understand which pages are useful. Analytics data is used in aggregate and is not used to identify individual visitors.
Payments and membership information
When you buy a paid plan — including the Premium Guides membership — checkout is handled by Stripe Payments Australia. Stripe collects your name, email and payment details directly and processes them as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We never receive or store your full card number.
From Stripe we receive only your billing email and subscription status, which we use to confirm and restore your access. Your membership entitlement is also stored locally in your own browser so paid content unlocks on that device; clearing site data signs you out and you can restore access at any time with your payment email on the Premium Guides page. Billing records are retained as required by Australian tax law.
Your rights and choices
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some site features may not work as intended. Under Australian privacy law and the GDPR (where applicable), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. Email us and we will action reasonable requests promptly.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and security
Email correspondence is retained only as long as needed to handle your enquiry. We take reasonable technical measures to protect information, though no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above. See also our Terms of Use and Affiliate Disclosure.
